About the Role
Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled EV Technician/Automotive Mechanic to join their team in San Francisco, CA. This role offers an opportunity to build a career in Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV/AV) and maintain/retrofit the next generation of fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform service, repair, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems of electric autonomous vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, A/C, and autonomous vehicle systems.
- Conduct complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacements.
- Perform software and firmware updates.
- Collaborate with engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
- Create repair orders and accurately document work performed, including diagnosis, procedures, and parts used.
- Participate in fleet-wide hardware and software retrofits.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a strong focus on quality and precision.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with autonomous vehicle technology.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on automotive and electric vehicle experience, including brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair, and diagnosis.
- Strong ability to diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, A/C, and AV/EV systems.
- Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment (impact guns, lifts, jacks, etc.).
- Solid computer skills with a strong aptitude for learning new technology and software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to give/receive clear feedback.
- A learning mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven commitment to safety and high-quality work.
- Ability to perform physical work including frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and accessing tight spaces.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms.
- Ability to safely perform duties in various weather conditions.
- Sufficient ability to see and hear to safely navigate the workspace.
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required).
