About the Role

Our team here is responsible for the maintenance, service, and sustainment of the Electronic Security Systems across the bases, primarily working with Lenel and Milestone systems. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, the Department of Defense, and other federal agency facilities to be more innovative, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems, primarily Lenel and Vindicator systems.
  • Install security devices and infrastructure per the installation plan, according to National Electrical Code, company, and customer guidelines.
  • Assist with security system programming and setup.
  • Conduct testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
  • Conduct testing of the system at the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
  • Prepare estimates per prescribed instructions or directions from the supervisor.
  • Conduct End-User training.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and/or industrial integrated/electronic security systems for complex low voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV, and digital recording systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Capable of using hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment properly.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Works well unsupervised and as part of a team environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Department of Defense Secret clearance (or one that was active within the last 2 years).
