About the Role

The Sanitation Supervisor enforces food safety and hygiene policies, examines manufacturing equipment for compliance with governmental standards, and develops corrective action plans for violations. This role involves consulting with management on compliance issues, maintaining vendor relationships, developing and delivering sanitation training programs, and keeping detailed records of sanitation activities. The supervisor ensures safety, quality, continuous improvement, and cost expectations are met, driving sustainable improvements across the shift with hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

Oversee the sanitation process.
Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed, aiming for an injury-free operation.
Meet or exceed key performance indicators in Sanitation areas.
Ensure the Sanitation process is cost-effective, reliable, and meets all associated targets.
Develop and track improvements in the use and efficiency of Sanitation labor resources.
Coordinate setup and implement standard operating procedures for key Sanitation operations.
Ensure Sanitation does not detract from timely production and product quality.
Manage adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
Ensure human and material resources required for sanitation tasks are available.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production to ensure timely completion of sanitation-related equipment PMs and foster good working relationships.
Ensure complete compliance with GMPs and 5S processes.
Estimate labor and operational costs for ongoing operations and new projects.
Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development.
Monitor Sanitation processes and adjust schedules as needed.
Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through change management and best practices.
Liaise among different departments, corporate resources, other plants, and suppliers.
Optimize resource utilization through an effective Sanitation organization.
Ensure coaching and development of the team and other key resources.
Supervise and motivate teams of workers.
Review the performance of subordinates.
Assist with the management of the Master Sanitation Schedule and Action Item Logs.
Perform titration testing of all chemicals requiring titration.
Perform other duties as identified or assigned by the Sanitation Manager.

Requirements

Be fast and flexible.
Possess leadership skills as well as an appropriate amount of technical skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
Have a strong working knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing techniques and related CI tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Have some experience and/or the ability to learn associated corporate enterprise software systems to analyze and track data.
Ensure the sanitation organization understands key operational information.
