About the Role
LAUSD's Asset Management group supports educational facility projects. As a Design Associate, you will support Planning and Development staff by interpreting documents, reviewing plans against standards and codes, and maintaining project paperwork. You will also manage A/E contracts, prepare internal documentation, collect data, and maintain project files. Additionally, you will coordinate project activities with various District branches and participate in community outreach.
Responsibilities
- Plan and document review for compliance with LAUSD standards and applicable codes
- Support for A/E contract administration, including internal documentation, contracts, and invoices
- Data collection, reports, presentations, and minor project research
- Maintain current, organized project files and technical records
- Coordination support across District branches for design and construction administration
Requirements
- 5 years of full-time professional experience in an architecture and design setting
- 3 of those years in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or a similar public agency
- Working knowledge of ADA, California Title 24, CalGreen, fire and energy codes, and Division of the State Architect and California Department of Education requirements
- Accurate calculations and surveys
- Clear writing skills
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments
