About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Barista to support our Head Baristas and help lead a small, busy team, ensuring coffee is always delivered to the highest standard. This involves ensuring customer engagement, maintaining product quality and consistency, and prompt service speed.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to dial in Grinders for both House Blend & Light Blend to brand standards and desired taste.
  • Train and support a team, encouraging professional development.
  • Support a team at all times.
  • Perfectly stretch all milk types used at Grind.
  • Pour advanced latte art (rosettas, multi-layered tulips, swans).
  • Maintain a clean section at all times.
  • Report espresso equipment issues to the Coffee Maintenance team.
  • Handle customer issues and manage expectations with a customer-focused approach.
  • Understand all current coffees, including tasting notes and recipes.
  • Manage and maintain all coffee, milk, and tea stock levels, communicating shortages to the Manager.
  • Ensure all stock is rotated and clearly labelled in compliance with H&S procedures.
  • Complete or delegate weekly stock take operations and cost sheets.
  • Understand coffee-based P&Ls, including sales figures and coffee margins.
  • Wear full and correct uniform always.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting and developing a team.
  • Trained in assisting stock control.
  • Knowledge of effective leadership.
  • Complete understanding of equipment and beans.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Passion for quality coffee.
  • Knowledge of dialling in, maintaining machines, and closing down La Marzocco Linea PB machines and Mahlkonig e65s grinders is essential.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional barista skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, ability to problem-solve with a solutions-driven approach.
