About the Role
As a Custodial Team Member, you will play an essential role in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of our facilities through daily custodial and maintenance support. Your work helps create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming center environment by prioritizing and completing custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, and cleaning ceiling vents.
- Communicate facility maintenance needs and operational concerns to center leadership and provide recommended solutions when appropriate.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance checks to support the overall upkeep and functionality of the center.
- Ensure designated supply areas remain fully stocked with necessary items including paper towels, soap, sanitizer, and other custodial supplies.
- Empty, clean, and maintain waste receptacles throughout the center.
- Maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized, and orderly manner.
- Demonstrate and model the YMCA’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions with members, participants, staff, and guests.
- Serve as an ambassador of the YMCA’s culture and impact by positively representing the organization and sharing our mission-driven work with others.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.

Experience Level
