About the Role
The VDC Coordinator plays a critical role in implementing VDC processes throughout design and construction. This role focuses heavily on MEP/FP coordination, supporting trade integration, clash resolution, and maintaining accurate BIM documentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple projects while engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support MEP/FP BIM coordination workflows.
- Develop and enforce the BIM Execution Plan for each assigned project.
- Facilitate trade coordination with field superintendents, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Write RFIs due to design/coordination issues.
- Perform clash detection and resolution using Navisworks and ACC.
- Develop BIM and composite plans based on evolving design and construction input.
- Conduct site walkthroughs to validate field conditions and update models accordingly.
- Track coordination issues and maintain documentation in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Attend and document weekly coordination meetings.
- Submit Coordination Sign-Off Forms and uphold VDC QA/QC standards.
- Participate in VDC team development through peer learning and internal training initiatives.
- Create site logistic plans for RFPs (2D/3D).
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a VDC/BIM coordination role (GC/CM or subcontractor experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills — comfortable running meetings with owners, architects, and trade principals.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, ReCap, and point cloud workflows preferred.
- Experience with MEP modeling and understanding of construction phasing/logistics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
