About the Role

As a Datacenter Solution Engineer, you will be part of the Supermicro Global Service Installation Team, helping to build a world-class service organization. You will perform racking and installation of server hardware, network equipment, and cable routing. You will provide technical support for installed equipment regarding hardware and software functionalities, assist the Solutions Manager in daily business, and work on service tickets. You will also assist with customer contact and perform hardware break fixes on location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical installation, rack and stack, cabling and networking of data center hardware.
  • Assist/support in the implementation of server, storage and network equipment.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of hardware solutions.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure hardware is installed correctly according to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and test functionality after installation.
  • Provide first-line technical support to end users via telephone, email and ticketing system.
  • Refer complex issues to higher level support teams when necessary.
  • Be willing to travel (internationally and locally) to carry out installations at customers or solve problems in data centers, which includes occasional extended hours and weekend work.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in servicing complex X86 systems and components in a datacenter environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent command of the English language.
  • Good understanding of Windows & Linux environments.
  • Demonstrated hardware system analytics and diagnostics skills, as well as a good understanding of how BIOS, drivers, and application loads can cause system issues.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be solution-oriented, a team player with the ability to identify and escalate issues in a timely manner and be proactive in driving solutions.
  • Emphasize break/fix and onsite Customer Service.
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise grade server hardware.
  • Live within a radius of 40 km of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Skills

  • Scripting (Bash, PHP, Python, etc.) is a plus.
  • Dutch would be a plus.
