About the Role
The FCA regulates UK financial services firms to ensure fair, thriving, and effective markets. This role is crucial for protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services. You will join the Asset Management & Funds Department within the Buy-Side Supervision Directorate, focusing on developing and applying supervision strategies to protect consumers and maintain market integrity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of major asset management firm operations, identifying consumer risks and shaping positive outcomes.
- Lead the creation and delivery of supervision strategies to empower firms, improve consumer experience, and enhance protection.
- Lead senior-level discussions with clarity and confidence, using sound judgment to shape firm conduct and influence key decisions.
- Respond to firm-specific issues and industry developments, ensuring swift and effective action.
- Build strong, productive relationships with internal teams (e.g., Enforcement, Authorisations) and external stakeholders, including other regulators.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of supervisory approaches by identifying sector-wide risks, driving innovation, and evolving processes.
- Grow knowledge and build expertise in a role supporting a fairer, more resilient market, improving consumer confidence and protection nationwide.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the asset management, insurance, or banking sectors, gained through industry, consultancy, or regulatory roles.
- Demonstrable experience in reviewing, investigating, and assessing information from multiple sources to make sound, evidence-based judgments.
- Prior experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating strong communication and influence.
- Commitment to the FCA’s mission, with a strong desire to make a meaningful difference and operate with purpose in a regulatory environment.
- A delivery-focused mindset, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining professionalism, credibility, and a positive presence.
