About the Role
Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. As the Manager, Sales (Pricing & Interchange), you will leverage rich data assets to derive mission-critical data sets, insights, and analytics that contribute to defining country pricing strategy, interchange operations, controls, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence. You will design, assess, and implement initiatives to strengthen Mastercard’s competitive position in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Make holistic assessments regarding interchange initiatives along strategic, customer, financial impact, risk, and feasibility.
- Develop or refine strategies consistent with objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Model outcomes and connect the dots across the value chain to inform decision making.
- Provide general internal counsel on customer economics and support business development.
- Provide direct support to account teams and customers on customer economics.
- Conduct strategic analysis to help evaluate new ideas, benchmark across Mastercard’s products and services, and inform decisions on pricing and interchange levels.
- Drive economics reviews, including new products, GTM strategy, repricing, and strategic initiatives.
- Apply analytical rigor (qualitative and quantitative) and problem-solving skills to understand customer value and develop creative solutions that drive top-line revenue growth.
- Leverage, lead, and contribute to models/frameworks for assessing pricing and interchange.
- Supervise cost studies that underpin the Interchange propositions.
- Prepare recommendations and necessary materials for decision-making purposes and present to management.
- Manage recurring business processes that rely on database data sets, SQL ETL, and other data conversions into end-user materials/BI.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and liaise closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including Product, Finance, GTO, Legal, Customers, and consultants.
Requirements
- Excellent analytical skills: structuring and conducting rigorous analysis using SQL scripts, R, Tableau, PowerBI, ML, automation, MS Excel.
- Strong propensity for learning new information platforms and joining data from multiple sources into structured analysis.
- Strong drive and curiosity to learn, creativity, and passion to achieve and excel.
- Ability to manage small-scale projects and use project-management skills to manage complex processes.
- Strong team player capable of operating effectively in a complex matrix.
- Mastery of analysis, modeling, and finance concepts.
