About the Role

The MSL serves as the local medical voice of AstraZeneca in the disease area of interest, building a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes. This role provides medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the local medical leader responsible for developing a tailored strategy to meet AZ USMA priorities and local specificities.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external stakeholders in academia, hospitals, managed markets, and private practices.
  • Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists, urologists, and key members of the MDT.
  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific/medical interactions.
  • Gather insights on the treatment landscape, evolving healthcare environment, barriers to optimal patient care, and opportunities to improve outcomes.
  • Communicate insights and findings internally, proposing actions to improve patient care.
  • Discuss data and educational gaps with KOLs to ensure adequate use of medicines and inform R&D strategy.
  • Summarize clinical data into accurate and balanced information, conveying relevant details concisely.
  • Stay current with scientific knowledge, including marketed and emerging products, competitor activities, healthcare trends, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Collaborate with Clin Ops on Ph3 trials from feasibility to execution.
  • Discuss and follow-up on ESRs.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree required (Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical discipline.
  • 2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in written documentation, one-on-one conversations, and small group dialogues.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Ability to navigate within a matrixial environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical study design and protocols.
  • Basic understanding of the Healthcare system, clinical trial methodology, statistics, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent project management ability.
  • Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic).

  • $174,455-$261,682
