About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, proactive, and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Toronto-based Finance team. In this role, you will directly safeguard our cash flow and maintain vital relationships with our distribution partners, digital service providers (DSPs), physical retailers, and licensing clients. You will manage the end-to-end order-to-cash workflow, ensure compliance with global Warner Music Group (WMG) financial policies, and resolve complex billing queries with a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with the Shared Service Centre to process and post vendor payments
- Confirming methods of payment and resolving any discrepancies, short payments, or unapplied cash balances with internal teams or customers
- Reaching out to customers for alternative payment methods where online credit card purchases have failed
- Performing customer account reconciliations, identifying variances, and researching billing discrepancies to ensure the AR ledger balances perfectly
- Generating, verifying, and distributing daily, weekly, or monthly commercial invoices and credit memos to clients via email or customer portals
- Reviewing aging AR reports to monitor overdue accounts, making professional collections outreach (via phone and email), and escalating problematic accounts when necessary
- Serving as the primary point of contact for customer billing inquiries, providing statement copies, and resolving disputes in a timely, courteous manner
- Maintaining well-organized electronic files, deposit logs, and backup documentation to support month-end closing and internal/external audits
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in an Account Receivable, billing, or general bookkeeping role
- Proficiency with Excel
- SAP S4Hana experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
