About the Role
The Senior Associate, Client Solutions is a key member of Hamilton Lane’s Canada Client Solutions team, supporting the firm’s fundraising, business development, and ongoing client service activities. This role involves managing investor relationships, contributing to new product development, and ensuring high standards of client servicing in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support fundraising and business development by assisting in the execution of fundraising campaigns and new product/solution development.
- Maintain market maps, prospect lists, and sales pipelines, ensuring data accuracy in firm systems.
- Act as a point of contact for prospects and clients, coordinating follow-up actions.
- Respond to investor and client inquiries, data requests, and due diligence questions promptly and professionally.
- Support the delivery of client reporting and servicing to meet agreed requirements.
- Collaborate with internal partners to ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience.
- Prepare and refine client-facing materials, including presentations and portfolio reviews.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative portfolio and product analysis to support client conversations and fundraising.
- Coordinate the completion of RFIs, RFPs, and due diligence questionnaires.
- Organize and coordinate meetings with investors, including logistics and research.
- Attend internal and external meetings, capturing action items.
- Assist with investor-focused marketing efforts such as conferences and seminars.
- Conduct research on markets, client segments, and business development themes.
- Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of Hamilton Lane’s private markets solutions, structures, and strategies.
- Learn and effectively use firm technology and tools for information analysis and presentation.
Requirements
- Approximately 4+ years of experience in financial services or a related finance role, with exposure to clients or external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid understanding of investments and capital markets concepts.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including comfort with data analysis, numerical work, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort learning new technology tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling client materials.
- Confident presentation and interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with clients, prospects, and colleagues at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, high integrity, and a client-focused mindset.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, often across time zones.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and continuously develop professional knowledge and skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience in investment management, private markets, or capital markets roles is a plus.
- Experience supporting fundraising, investor relations, or institutional client coverage is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and/or other sales and marketing tools is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., financial modeling, portfolio analytics) or experience with other analytical tools is a plus.
- Additional language skills relevant to key client markets are a plus.
