About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will support client, business development, and marketing efforts for the Americas Debt Finance Regional Section. Your role will involve working with business development managers, partners, and lawyers to support ongoing business and practice development activities, focusing on strategic initiatives, client development, market positioning, and brand recognition. The role has a significant US domestic and international dimension.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of the Americas Regional Section business plan, associated marketing plans, and key initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing plans for Debt Finance pillar groups.
  • Assist in the integration of new lawyer joiners.
  • Liaise with other Section and Industry BD teams on joint marketing and BD initiatives.
  • Lead the preparation of domestic and cross-border pitches, proposals, capability statements, and presentations.
  • Support the development of priority Debt Finance client relationships and client action plans.
  • Coordinate research and analysis of clients, markets, sectors, and decision-makers.
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral, ensuring consistency and compelling messaging.
  • Contribute to league table and legal directory submissions.
  • Manage award and ranking opportunities and lead related submissions.
  • Support thought leadership efforts by monitoring trends and assisting with distribution.
  • Assess the value, relevance, and cost/benefits of profile-raising opportunities.
  • Manage internal marketing information flows for new and active matters and closed deals.
  • Lead the maintenance of Debt Finance capability statements and key experience lists.
  • Lead the maintenance of the Firm’s CRM database to support business development activities.
  • Plan Debt Finance client and multi-client events with the central events team.
  • Coordinate involvement with relevant industry associations and groups.
  • Coordinate participation at/sponsorship of industry conferences.
  • Lead on maximizing sponsorship benefits.

Requirements

  • Organized and efficient, with the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Good systems and database skills including InterAction, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 6 plus years’ experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.
  • Demonstrable experience of responsibility for a team and operating at partnership level (considered for candidates with less or more experience).
  • Private Equity/Capital Markets/Corporate/Banking/Debt Finance/Restructuring & Insolvency practice experience is preferred, but not essential.
