About the Role

Marriott Syracuse Downtown seeks a Purchasing and Storeroom Manager to ensure all delivered items meet approved standards and maintain Crescent Hotels & Resorts and Marriott brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Check shipments by comparing them with the Daily Order Sheet and invoice to ensure accuracy in quantity, price, quality, size, count, weight tolerance, and expiration date.
• Fill out error correction forms in duplicate when necessary to ensure proper credit for discrepancies and immediately notify the Management team of shortages.
• Time stamp and sign the driver's and hotel's copy of the invoice for correct shipments, placing the hotel stamp on the invoice and signing next to the 'Received By' field.
• Follow the same procedure for shipments received with a delivery slip or memo invoice, completing a 'goods received without invoice' form after inspection.
• Direct the traffic of all incoming items until they are properly dated, priced, labeled, or tagged.
• Label all incoming bread and bakery deliveries with the appropriate outlet or banquet function.
• Conduct random spot-checks of all perishable items for proper storing and packaging to prevent quality loss.
• Assist and direct End of Month (EOM) inventory along with the F&B Management team as necessary.
• Assist outlets' employees in filling requisitions, transfer sheets, temperature logs, and sanitation maintenance daily.
• Complete all tasks promptly and safely.
• Assist with the placement of daily, weekly, and monthly orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess a self-starting personality with an even disposition and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Must be able to communicate well with guests, vendors, and other associates.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Must have attention to detail and organizational skill set.
• Must have moderate to excellent computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Google Chrome.
• Must be available for early AM for incoming delivery schedules.
• Ability to lift, push, pull 50-100 pounds or more on a regular basis.
