About the Role
This is a generalist HR position balancing operational HR delivery with culture, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete employee lifecycle events including starters, leavers, benefits enrolment/administration/renewals, absence management, employee relations, and time recording.
- Lead HR processes in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Continuously review and improve internal processes, policies, and procedures, drafting and updating them as needed.
- Work independently on employee requests.
- Support the People & Culture team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Contribute to HR and L&D initiatives, providing support and assisting with communications.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external HR queries, managing shared HR inboxes efficiently.
- Bridge the gap between People & Culture and other departments to ensure employees feel informed and approachable.
- Assist with monthly payroll administration and reporting, partnering with the finance team for accuracy and timely data submission.
- Assist in the research, coordination, and implementation of company initiatives or benefit changes.
- Communicate with third-party vendors/partners as required.
- Support the business on DEIBA initiatives and administration of changes.
- Champion company values and positive workplace culture.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and surveys, analyze feedback, and support action planning.
- Promote well-being initiatives and inclusive practices.
- Make suggestions for improvements or changes with departmental leadership support.
- Support the annual benefits review, data collection, and presentations.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant HR best practices are followed.
- Ensure GDPR compliance relating to employee data.
- Contribute, support, and lead on People & Culture Projects and champion change.
- Work collaboratively within the People & Culture team and with all departments.
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and coaching to managers on people-related matters.
- Lead employee relations cases including disciplinary and grievance processes, absence management, performance management, capability concerns, and flexible working requests.
- Support managers in resolving issues informally where appropriate.
- Support the delivery of performance review processes and implement change.
- Coach managers on feedback, objective setting, and performance conversations.
- Support career development and talent conversations.
- Support employee offboarding, including communications, exit interviews, and system updates.
- Draft and issue letters for employee changes to terms and conditions.
- Maintain and update employee records across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with and deliver training sessions on HRIS and associated processes.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and enhancement of HRIS by designing and customizing systems’ screens and workflows.
- Monitor key people metrics, interpret data, recognize trends, and provide insights for management information.
- Provide employee reports from HR systems to management upon request.
- Support the coordination and implementation of new systems and platforms.
- Administer and ensure data accuracy of HR systems and updates.
- Partner with hiring managers to support end-to-end recruitment.
- Advise on job design, role profiles, and interview processes.
- Proactively coordinate recruitment activities, including managing recruitment, scheduling interviews, and assisting managers.
- Support and champion inclusive hiring practices.
- Prepare contracts and pre-employment communication with new starters.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure smooth onboarding by coordinating induction processes and working with managers on induction timetables.
- Liaise with line managers to ensure candidate applications are dealt with within agreed timescales.
- Complete reference checks and right-to-work checks for new hires.
- Manage onboarding and probation processes to ensure successful integration.
- Support managers through probation-related processes.
- Assist with the coordination and planning of placement selection days, recommendations, and set up placement attendees for organized recruitment days.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and working sessions to upskill managers and employees on P&C related topics, processes, or policies.
- Assist with the maintenance of L&D online platforms, such as adding new starters and removing leavers and assigning learning paths.
- Provide management reports upon request.
- Identify development needs and coordinate learning initiatives.
- Maintain and update employee training records, providing reports and analyzing training performance.
- Assist with training bookings, both internal and external.
Requirements
- Experience in a generalist HR Advisor or equivalent role.
- Strong employee relations experience.
- Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on SME environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Ability to work independently on tasks and seek assistance where necessary.
Skills
- CIPD Level 5 or working towards achieving this.
- Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and coaching skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Passion for HR and interest in further education/development in this field.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
- Experience with HRIS system implementation and people analytics.
- Experience working in the entertainment / live events industry.
- Experience of working for a family run business.
