About the Role
The Extended Day Program Teacher for Morning Care assists in the administration and supervision of students during morning hours, fostering a safe, fun, and inclusive environment that supports the school's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily room set-up and clean-up of materials and equipment
- Develop and lead engaging student activities including indoor games, arts and crafts, and tinkering projects
- Collaborate with the Director and EDP Team to plan and implement innovative instruction
- Manage administrative and record-keeping duties using app-based platforms and software
- Provide constant student supervision and maintain accurate attendance records
- Engage with students through homework help, play supervision, and enrichment activities
- Assist students with conflict resolution
- Maintain positive group dynamics and support individual student needs
- Communicate with school faculty and staff to support holistic student development
- Attend required training and meetings for professional development
Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Provide a TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire completed by a licensed health care provider
- Strong classroom management skills
- Demonstration of reliable attendance
- Commitment to educational programming for K-8 students
- Knowledge of basic developmental needs of K-8 students
- Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands
- Ability to work collaboratively on a high-functioning team
- Openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly, maturely, and compassionately
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
