About the Role
The Communications Specialist will support, recommend, innovate, and create both internal and external communications. This role involves close collaboration with Talent & Development and IT teams to ensure the smooth implementation of new initiatives and the management of existing platforms. Communications will be disseminated via intranet, visual display platforms, social media, and other digital mediums. An ideal candidate is passionate about the newest technology and social platforms, possesses strong communication skills, and has experience in graphic design (Canva), video editing (Adobe), and content creation. The ability to quickly learn new processes and systems and work cross-functionally is critical.
Responsibilities
- Create and update content for communication channels (Workvivo, FGF/24, FGF Home, etc.)
- Create and update content for the FGF intranet site
- Develop monthly social media content calendars and update LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant platforms
- Support Talent branding initiatives through content creation
- Increase engagement and information/knowledge dissemination across all communication platforms
- Pull analytics to provide insights into communication channel performance and recommend improvements
- Facilitate training sessions on communications technology (one-on-one and classroom)
- Research, recommend, and implement innovative company-wide communication tools in collaboration with the IT Business Partner
- Identify communication gaps and implement new technology and processes to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with the T&D Event Coordinator on event materials and provide event support
- Work with teams to integrate change management communication activities
- Create advertisements, banners, invites, and other collateral with internal stakeholders
- Manage correspondence with external agencies and partners for various media forms
Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in a corporate communications role
- Technically savvy with a passion for learning new systems and technology
- Copywriting experience to create clear, engaging copy and content
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Detail-oriented with a track record of completing projects on time
- Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
- Ability to influence individuals and build consensus throughout the organization
- Patience working with all team members
- Team player with a positive attitude and ability to hit the ground running
- Advanced MS PowerPoint knowledge and proficiency with other MS Office products (Outlook, Excel)
- Experience with Social Media administration (Workplace, Instagram, LinkedIn, Glassdoor)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other graphic design software
- Videography and photography experience is an asset
