About the Role

Develop and maintain microservices that connect worlds (internal & external systems). Command side quests when the Tech Lead is away. Shape the team’s strategy with strong opinions and battle-tested experience. Master authentication & authorization, and design & optimize SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservices that connect internal & external systems.
• Act as Tech Lead when the primary Tech Lead is unavailable.
• Contribute to team strategy.
• Implement and manage authentication and authorization systems (OAuth, Auth0).
• Design and optimize SQL databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
• Write automated tests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend/API Developer.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Expertise in SQL and database design.
• Experience with ORMs.
• Strong skills in automated testing (jest/mocha).
• Proficiency with Docker, Git, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with AWS, Grafana, Prometheus, Graylog is a plus.
• An academic background in Computer Science or Software Engineering is a plus.
• Leadership experience is a plus.
• A portfolio, side project, or demo repository demonstrating shipped code is valued.
