About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of the club's facilities and equipment. This position ensures that all building systems, fitness amenities, pools, locker rooms, kitchens, and grounds remain safe, reliable, and in excellent operating condition while providing exceptional service to members and staff. The ideal candidate possesses broad maintenance experience with strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of all club facilities and identify maintenance needs.
  • Complete preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records.
  • Assist with facility improvements, renovations, and special projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop.
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems including filter changes, belt replacement, lubrication, and coil cleaning.
  • Diagnose refrigeration and air conditioning issues.
  • Monitor building automation and HVAC controls where applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining proper indoor air quality and temperature throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues involving lighting, receptacles, switches, motors, and controls.
  • Replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, drivers, and electrical components.
  • Install and repair electrical equipment in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Perform basic motor control troubleshooting.
  • Maintain emergency lighting systems and backup equipment.
  • Repair toilets, sinks, faucets, valves, flushometers, and water heaters.
  • Diagnose and repair water leaks and drain issues.
  • Maintain domestic water and irrigation systems.
  • Install plumbing fixtures and piping as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair commercial kitchen equipment including ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers and freezers, ovens, grills, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, food warmers, and beverage equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on food service equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for major repairs when necessary.
  • Assist with maintenance of fitness equipment and recreational amenities.
  • Support pool equipment maintenance including pumps, filters, and chemical systems.
  • Operate lifts, ladders, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety regulations.
  • Provide courteous, professional service to members, guests, and coworkers.
  • Perform laundry, security, housekeeping, landscaping, and groundskeeping responsibilities as needed.
  • Move furniture (setup/break down).
  • Perform janitorial/housekeeping responsibilities including cleaning floors, windows, dusting, and laundry.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to climb a 15-foot extension ladder.
  • Ability to work while scaffolding.
  • Ability to perform job functions in hot and cold environments for extended periods.
  • Requires the use of PPE.
  • Must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

  • Journeyman Electrician License (Preferred)
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training
  • OSHA Lockout/Tagout Training
  • Journeyman Plumber License (Preferred)
  • Backflow Prevention Certification (Preferred)
  • CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) Certification (Preferred)
  • Manufacturer certifications for commercial refrigeration or foodservice equipment (Preferred)
