About the Role

The Conflicts Coordinator ensures the efficient functioning of the conflicts checking and clearing process, providing excellent service to internal clients and upholding departmental standards for quality, consistency, accuracy, and thoroughness.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor shared inboxes and online requests, assigning tasks and tracking progress to completion.
  • Serve as a resource for questions from Conflicts Analysts.
  • Monitor the Conflicts Inbox to identify rush and high priority requests.
  • Coordinate with other Coordinators to assign and delegate requests and transition work among the team.
  • Ensure requests are handled promptly, maintaining workload and overall flow.
  • Communicate with Assistants/Attorneys regarding request status, party listing, and updates.
  • Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate and monitor special projects.
  • Ensure internal protocols and procedures are properly followed.
  • Ensure all conflicts reports are complete, consistent, accurate, and adhere to established standards.
  • Follow up on conflict issues with relevant personnel.
  • Identify and escalate unresolved issues to the Conflicts Supervisor.
  • Ensure accuracy in searching and reporting tasks.
  • Coordinate with Analysts and team members to meet deadlines and time-sensitive issues.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of legal conflicts concepts and related ethical rules.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent people skills for a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proficiencies.
  • Comfortable working with attorneys and other legal staff.
  • Comfortable in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accept direction and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to take ownership and work independently to resolve issues.
  • Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Candidates must be able to work within the Mountain or Eastern Time Zones.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Web-based systems proficiency
  • Legal conflicts databases (e.g., Intapp, Dunn & Bradstreet, Aderant) familiarity

Experience Level

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a conflicts role in a large multi-national firm preferable.

Education Level

  • Four year college degree required.
