About the Role

As a Functional Specialist Quality (FSQ), you will uphold and enhance the quality standards of assessment services by auditing Assessment Reports. Your expertise will support continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback to aid the professional development of Functional Specialists. You may also contribute through telephony, virtual, or face-to-face support activities and complete a set number of assessments each month.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the prevailing PIPAG and Clinical Guidance Notes.
  • Quality check a specified volume of reports per day against established criteria.
  • Provide constructive and impartial advice to Functional Specialists to amend and resubmit reports.
  • Recognize strengths in written reports and include them in audit feedback.
  • Provide constructive, impartial, and supportive advice to Functional Specialists via telephone support lines.
  • Record telephone support interactions accurately in CRM.
  • Alert the FSQ Team Manager if an emotional or clinical support requirement is identified for a Functional Specialist.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with mandatory training and Continuous Professional Development modules.
  • Maintain professional registration and Authority Approval, acting in accordance with the relevant UK Professional Code of Conduct.
  • Contribute to clinical and service transformation, including piloting new initiatives.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Business.
  • Be clinically calibrated to the standards set by the CMO and Clinical Governance Management Team.

Requirements

  • Experienced UK registered Health Professional with a minimum of 12 months’ post-registration experience.
  • Current and unrestricted professional registration with GMC, NMC, or HCPC.
  • Current DWP PIP approval and maintained approved Functional Specialist status with no restrictions.
  • Minimum of 16 months’ experience as a Functional Specialist.
  • Experience of clinical effectiveness, quality assurance standards, feedback, peer review, audit methodology, and/or impartial review.
  • In-depth knowledge of the physiological, pathological, social, and cultural issues underpinning PIP assessment criteria.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Oral and written proficiency for succinct audit feedback and CRM discussion records.
  • Ability to listen carefully and ensure dialogue is two-way.
  • Working understanding of clinical governance.
