About the Role

We are seeking motivated individuals passionate about teaching and learning to join our Science department. This role involves teaching learners aged 16+ on various qualifications including BTEC, T-level, and Access programmes. You will work within a dynamic team, supporting its development and growth, and will be responsible for course management.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and learning of students, individually and in groups.
• Teaching on courses including BTEC Science, Access to Science, Radiography, and T-Level laboratory Science.
• Involving ILT in teaching/learning strategies.
• Acting as Personal Tutor and/or Course Manager, monitoring attendance, and liaising with parents/guardians and other agencies.
• Attending course team, department, and Centre meetings.
• Participating in Induction and assisting in course marketing.
• Assisting in the development of new work areas.
• Maintaining student records regarding attendance, achievement, and progression.
• Attending Advice and Guidance events, Parent’s evenings, and Open Days, and conducting student interviews.
• Teaching students across a range of abilities and ages in a motivating, supportive, and inspiring manner.
• Contributing to curriculum development.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, and assessing student work.
• Providing appropriate and safe performance opportunities for learners.
• Keeping records, monitoring, and tracking student progress, and maintaining management information and statistical data.
• Contributing to the preparation for internal & external verification and inspections.
• Undertaking administrative duties.
• Undertaking risk assessments.
• Supporting the College in the development of appropriate and safe work placement opportunities.
• Participating actively and flexibly in College-wide activities.
• Participating in training and team development activities.
• Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others.
• Complying with the College’s Health and Safety Policy and priorities.
• Complying with health and safety legislation and College requirements.
