About the Role
Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School, managing daily operations including safety, staffing, pool maintenance, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Direct and control daily operations according to standard operating procedures.
- Support the General Manager and department managers with daily tasks.
- Manage staff to ensure high productivity, performance, and satisfaction.
- Oversee employee engagement and company culture.
- Train and develop the aquatics department to ensure superior swim instruction.
- Manage operational items including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
- Maintain and troubleshoot pool chemistry and pump room operations.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
- Evaluate teachers and assess trainees prior to independent instruction.
- Direct and maintain the Emergency Action Plan and facility safety procedures.
- Provide sales and marketing training to staff.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on customer service and sales performance.
- Manage retail and vending departments, including product mix and pricing.
- Assist with purchasing.
- Train and oversee private party staff.
- Manage social media, water safety presentations, and local business partnerships.
- Monitor communications to ensure timely responses.
- Maintain competence in technology platforms for scheduling and administration.
- Train front desk staff on program sales and customer concerns.
- Maintain current professional certifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
- Certified Pool Operator certification.
- Lifeguard Instructor certification.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week.
