About the Role

Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School, managing daily operations including safety, staffing, pool maintenance, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and control daily operations according to standard operating procedures.
  • Support the General Manager and department managers with daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, performance, and satisfaction.
  • Oversee employee engagement and company culture.
  • Train and develop the aquatics department to ensure superior swim instruction.
  • Manage operational items including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pool chemistry and pump room operations.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Evaluate teachers and assess trainees prior to independent instruction.
  • Direct and maintain the Emergency Action Plan and facility safety procedures.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to staff.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on customer service and sales performance.
  • Manage retail and vending departments, including product mix and pricing.
  • Assist with purchasing.
  • Train and oversee private party staff.
  • Manage social media, water safety presentations, and local business partnerships.
  • Monitor communications to ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain competence in technology platforms for scheduling and administration.
  • Train front desk staff on program sales and customer concerns.
  • Maintain current professional certifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
  • Certified Pool Operator certification.
  • Lifeguard Instructor certification.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week.
