About the Role

We are seeking Backend Engineers to join our in-house banking platform team. You will collaborate with a cross-functional squad to build and support specific parts of Monzo, contributing to innovative work in areas like machine learning and AI, financial crime prevention, and smarter financial tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team to make a difference to customers.
• Build and support a particular part of Monzo within a squad.
• Contribute to innovative work, potentially with exposure to machine learning and AI.

Requirements

• Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
• Desire to build a product that you and your network use daily.
• Product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
• Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
• Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
• Some experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.).
• Enjoy the type of work being done at Monzo.
