About the Role
The HF Events Director is responsible for leading the coordination and delivery of event, rental, and member experience operations within the Health & Fitness Centre. This role supports facility utilization, client satisfaction, and revenue objectives by providing day-to-day leadership to staff, fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders, and supporting effective event and rental services. The position enhances member experience and supports the YMCA's mission through operational leadership, coordination, and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide leadership to program staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Support and coach Supervisors in staff scheduling, development, and performance management of part-time staff.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to ensure safe, inclusive, and well-organized experiences.
- Collaborate with facility and program teams to ensure alignment across Health & Fitness programming and member experience initiatives.
- Represent the organization in external meetings with associations.
- Develop and implement client surveys to gather feedback and enhance services.
- Manage the booking process from confirmation through deposit collection.
- Coordinate the scheduling of room rentals for efficient use of spaces.
- Research, select, and manage relationships with event service partners.
- Lead the development and updating of marketing materials, promotional items, and website content.
- Maintain accounts receivable processes, including payments, deposits, data entry, and sales contracts.
- Oversee the purchasing and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and furniture.
- Lead the operation and monitoring of the Building Automation System (BAS).
- Ensure programs and services are delivered to a high standard and meet YMCA expectations.
- Provide direct leadership by modeling effective service delivery and building relationships with members.
- Support the staff team in promoting positive member experiences and responding to feedback.
- Monitor program and rental budgets, track revenue and expenses, and prepare financial reports.
- Prepare event spaces for use, including setup and liaison with maintenance staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a Police Records Check and Vulnerable Police Records Check.
