About the Role
In our "Law & Politics" team, you can work with us to improve the legal situation for victims of digital violence. Whether it's legislative proposals on sexualized deepfakes, fundamental legal processes against social media corporations through all instances, or the daily legal classification of current phenomena such as smart glasses – with us, you will not only be at the forefront of current events but can also develop ideas for the internet of tomorrow with us. You will be part of the Law and Politics team and take on professional responsibility for our legal area, including strategic management of legal topics and professional leadership of three legal employees. You will work closely with the Team Lead Law and Politics.
Responsibilities
- Take on professional responsibility for the legal area.
- Strategically manage legal topics.
- Professionally lead legal employees.
- Handle legal questions for the organization and its policy work.
- Work strategically on the organization's goals.
- Manage process cost financing.
- Oversee the organization's fundamental legal processes.
- Engage in legal project work.
- Liaise with investigative authorities and the judiciary.
- Perform the organization's Trusted Flagger duties.
- Supervise legal trainees.
- Address general legal issues such as data protection.
- Maintain an overview and ensure quality assurance for the team's work.
- Prepare complex legal issues for legislative proposals.
- Develop political demands addressing current digital violence issues.
- Represent the organization externally in press inquiries, expert hearings, presentations, workshops, and network events.
- Inform management and the Team Lead Law and Politics about relevant developments.
- Provide advisory support.
Requirements
- Reside and have ordinary residence in Germany.
- Successfully completed the second state examination in law.
- Possess 2-5 years of professional experience.
- Communicate complex legal issues understandably.
- Speak and write German and English fluently.
- Work carefully and precisely.
- Be familiar with various digital tools for organization and communication.
- Be proficient in MS Office.
- Work in a self-organized manner, communicate and prioritize effectively.
- Be politically minded and committed to combating digital violence.
- Enjoy working in a diverse and interdisciplinary team.
- Appreciate societal diversity and be willing to develop, change perspectives, and learn.
