About the Role

The Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (CP/CRG) Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality delivery of NORAD Framework Child Protection and Child Rights Governance interventions within community-based projects in Puntland, Somalia. This role ensures meaningful engagement of children, caregivers, communities, and local authorities to strengthen child protection systems, promote child participation, and advocate for children’s rights.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality delivery of NORAD Framework Child Protection and Child Rights Governance interventions.
  • Ensure children, caregivers, communities, and local authorities are meaningfully engaged.
  • Strengthen child protection systems.
  • Promote child participation.
  • Advocate for children’s rights in line with Save the Children standards, national policies, and international child rights frameworks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in child protection, child rights governance, or community-based programming in humanitarian and/or development settings.
  • Experience working with children, communities, local authorities, and civil society organisations.
  • Experience in implementing child protection case management and referral mechanisms is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of child rights, child protection principles, safeguarding, and community-based approaches.
  • Selection process reflects commitment to the protection of children from abuse.
  • Employment is subject to child protection standards including background checks and adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy.
