Requirements

  • Significant experience creating successful social-first video content
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, originality, and understanding of platform performance
  • Track record of growing social audiences through original thinking
  • Experienced people manager with confidence to lead, motivate, and develop a team
  • Enjoy coaching others, giving constructive feedback, and raising editorial/creative standards
  • NCTJ or BJTC qualification is essential
  • Experience working in a breaking news environment is essential
  • Thorough understanding of UK media law
  • Confidence to make sound editorial decisions under pressure
  • Advanced understanding of Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X
  • Proven experience developing platform-specific video strategies that grow audiences and drive commercial performance
  • Create and oversee repeatable social formats that deliver measurable growth and revenue
  • Highly competent shooting on smartphones and DSLR cameras
  • Proficient editing in Premiere Pro (or equivalent)
  • Proficient presenting to camera
  • Proficient recording voiceovers
