About the Role
As a Power Platform Engineer, you will join our Group Infrastructure Engineering team to own and evolve the Microsoft Power Platform estate across the organisation. You will design and maintain secure, scalable environments, implement governance frameworks, and work closely with Business Citizen Developers, Cloud Architecture, and Security teams to ensure the platform delivers real business value. This role requires someone with deep hands-on Power Platform expertise, a strong governance mindset, and the ability to balance innovation with enterprise-grade control, enabling teams to build and automate confidently, without introducing unmanaged risk.
Responsibilities
- Own the Power Platform environment lifecycle across Development, Test, Production, and departmental environments, ensuring all environments are secure, compliant, and aligned to enterprise standards.
- Lead the governance framework and Center of Excellence (CoE), enforcing DLP policies, connector boundaries, Dataverse security roles, and solution lifecycle processes to keep the platform healthy and audit ready.
- Act as the go-to technical partner for Citizen Developers across the business - providing guidance, templates, and solution patterns that help teams build sustainably, avoid technical debt, and move fast without cutting corners.
- Build and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Dataverse solutions for internal business use cases, implementing proper ALM practices and integrating with Microsoft 365, Azure, ServiceNow, and external APIs.
- Design and deliver AI-powered solutions using AI Builder and Copilot Studio, removing manual and Excel-based processes and ensuring all AI usage meets responsible governance and data security standards.
- Monitor and optimise licensing and platform usage, producing reports and insights for stakeholders and advising on cost-effective capacity planning.
- Act as the escalation point for Power Platform issues, collaborating with the Cloud Architect to transition new capabilities to BAU and representing the team in operational reviews.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including: Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven); Power Automate; Dataverse; Power BI (administration and governance)
- Proven experience implementing Power Platform governance, DLP policies, and CoE.
- Solid understanding of Dataverse security roles, environment strategy, and ALM best practices.

- Knowledge of Power Platform licensing models and consumption monitoring.
- Experience with AI Builder and/or Copilot Studio.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
