About the Role
AECOM is seeking a Senior Rail Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team in one of their UK offices, focusing on rail projects. The role involves technical leadership and project delivery throughout the infrastructure lifecycle for diverse public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Developing System Engineering plans and processes.
- Undertaking the development of system definitions, technical requirements, and system architectures.
- Managing technical requirements using techniques and tools like DOORS and ComplyPro.
- Developing and delivering systems engineering processes to support customer requirements.
- Evaluating the interrelationship of system requirements and aspects of system design and development.
- Developing scope of works and work packages with clients.
- Serving as the senior technical resource for the team/project.
- Providing specialized technical input to studies and design.
- Developing study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Developing cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Preparing technical specification sections.
- Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience of railway systems safety and assurance experience including system safety and interoperability
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Experience of leading a team of safety engineering professionals is ideal.
