We are a modern, state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Insurance Verification Specialist.

Opens the Front Office of the Center before first patient check-ins
Welcomes patients, families, physicians, and visitors to the surgery center either in person or over the phone
Performs pre-registration and registration of patients, including entering insurance and demographic information, and consent forms into the EMR system
Completes insurance verifications
Notifies patients of insurance coverage and copay/coinsurance responsibilities
Receives and directs phone calls, distributes mail and messages, and assists the business office as necessary
Prepares patient documents
Accepts and posts payments
Works directly with clinical staff members to understand procedure lengths, room availability, and special supply needs
Coordinates schedule with the anesthesia group
Maintains the Front Desk area
Performs other duties as assigned

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
Additional languages preferred
Knowledge of EMR systems
Knowledge of commercial and private insurance plans
Knowledge of Google Suite
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification or willingness to complete by start date
