About the Role

The Training and Capability Specialist plays a key role in building a capable, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing workforce across Diageo Australia. This role supports the development, coordination, and governance of training, SOPs, and capability processes to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, and tools to work safely, consistently, and in line with Diageo standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain training records, competency documentation, compliance evidence, and training matrices.
  • Create, update, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Deliver or coordinate training, refresher sessions, and capability-building activities.
  • Partner with leaders and SMEs to support effective on-the-job training, coaching, and knowledge transfer.
  • Support the rollout of Manufacturing Excellence practices by training teams in standard routines, problem-solving tools, and continuous improvement ways of working.
  • Maintain training systems, document control processes, and digital learning tools.
  • Monitor training efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in training coordination, capability development, learning administration, document control, or operational excellence within manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience maintaining SOPs, training records, compliance documentation, and document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safe work practices, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to deliver training, facilitate learning, or support structured on-the-job development for frontline teams.
  • Strong partner engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, HR, and frontline leaders.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, learning management systems, or other digital training/document platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
