About the Role

This role owns the security architecture for Anaplan's Hyperblock and Polaris platform and AI products, focusing on secure-by-design principles. As the most senior technical individual contributor in security architecture, you will set the technical standards and work hands-on to solve the most critical security challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Define reference architectures for the platform and AI products, ensuring they remain current.
  • Own the identity and authorization architecture, including for AI agents and complex workflows.
  • Set cryptography architecture standards for encryption and key management.
  • Design AI guardrails, including input/output controls, tool boundaries, and defenses against abuse and prompt injection.
  • Lead threat modeling for high-risk systems and translate findings into design changes.
  • Drive secure-by-design principles into the supply chain and attack surface.
  • Establish technical standards for the security architecture practice.
  • Write and review designs and prototypes, and pressure-test architecture.

Requirements

  • Deep mastery of secure software architecture, cryptography, identity and authorization, and threat modeling at scale.
  • Practical understanding of AI and ML security, particularly how LLM features impact identity, authorization, supply chain, and verification.
  • Hands-on technical authority with the ability to design, review, and defend system choices.
  • Ability to influence senior engineers without formal authority, especially when balancing risk and delivery.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale, SaaS, or cloud-first environments where architecture decisions had significant consequences.
