About the Role
As an Applied AI/ML Engineer, you will bring modern AI technologies into productive applications. You will develop robust, scalable, and responsibly usable AI solutions to strengthen our leadership in Fashion & Lifestyle as an international omnichannel department store.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered applications and workflows from idea to productive deployment, making pragmatic decisions between application quality, latency, reliability, and cost.
- Integrate Large Language Models, MCPs/APIs, RAG approaches, and automations into existing products and processes, learning continuously from real user signals.
- Build reliable AI/ML pipelines and support evaluation, monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Cloud Engineers, Product Owners, and business departments to create measurable value from AI technologies and shape future technical direction.
Requirements
- Completed studies or comparable experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Informatics, or a similar technical field.
- Proficient knowledge of Python and ability to create complex database queries with SQL.
- Experience in developing and operationalizing ML or GenAI solutions.
- Cloud and MLOps experience (e.g., with GCP or MLflow) and proficient use of Python for data preparation, evaluation, and ML fundamentals.
- Proficiency with GenAI approaches such as LLMs, RAG, LangChain/LangGraph, and AI APIs and LLM-based pipelines.
- Good understanding of AI solution architecture.
- Solution-oriented, pragmatic, and user-centric mindset, aiming to effectively implement AI in products and processes.
- Familiarity with agile working methods and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Fluent English language skills; German language skills are an advantage.
