About the Role

Expatrio is an ambitious Berlin-based start-up in the field of Fintech and Edtech. Our goal is to make the way to and in Germany as easy as possible for international students. If you want to support us in this goal, then you are exactly right with us!

Responsibilities

• Support our Chief Legal Counsel with the drafting, review, and management of a wide range of commercial contracts across the group.
• Help build out and maintain our contract management processes, including our DocuSign template automation.
• Support regulatory and compliance topics, including data protection (GDPR) and other requirements relevant to our banking and insurance partnerships.
• Assist with corporate housekeeping and legal projects tied to our ongoing group integration.
• Act as a first point of contact for routine legal questions from internal teams, translating legal considerations into clear, practical guidance.
• Liaise with external counsel and support on active legal matters.

Requirements

• Completed First State Examination (Erstes Staatsexamen) or hold an equivalent law degree.
• Looking for Rechtsreferendariat Wahlstation is considered.
• Proactive and curious, with a genuine interest in seeing, doing, and learning.
• Genuine interest in fintech, payments, or financial regulation.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills, and enjoy translating legal detail into clear, practical guidance.
• Fluent in German and English.
