About the Role
This role involves leading a team in environmental services, focusing on collecting waste, managing staff, and ensuring efficient operations. You will play a key part in helping the company achieve its environmental goals and serve local communities.
Responsibilities
- Collecting bags and fly-tips, completing daily duties.
- Conducting regular visits to staff to ensure efficient and effective task completion.
- Ensuring sweeper bags and fly tips are removed as per request or observation.
- Servicing litter bins as required and occasionally assisting with sweeping.
- Assisting with daily checks of vehicles, barrows, and equipment at the start of each shift.
- Reporting any vehicle defects on the daily defect sheet.
- Reporting all accidents to the Line Manager.
- Verifying that all information relating to ISO90001 procedures is correctly recorded and filed.
- Ensuring all team members have their individual working instructions and sign daily worksheets.
- Confirming workforce sign-off upon completion of daily work.
- Returning all route maps, worksheets, and log sheets completed and signed.
- Debriefing the Manager or Senior Manager on daily activities and planning for the next day.
- Implementing and ensuring adherence to the company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Conducting ongoing training within the workforce.
- Being conversant with the Company’s discipline and grievance procedure, potentially compiling written statements and giving evidence.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe depot environment at all times.
