About the Role
Manage the day-to-day service delivery of the Adult MASH Team as the single point of contact for ASC Duty/Safeguarding referrals. Ensure the MASH function is completed to a high standard, assessing community members' needs proportionately to referrals. Facilitate timely referral to appropriate support/assessment services based on presenting needs. Ensure high-quality, legally compliant social care practice for staff within the role's remit, maximizing the independence and wellbeing of adults and older people. Manage and professionally supervise qualified social work and support staff, and support other colleagues. Deputize for the Adult Safeguarding Lead as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with professional colleagues, other providers, and external agencies to gather information and coordinate actions.
- Represent the Council at multi-agency meetings.
- Liaise with external and internal partners and other agencies on day-to-day service issues and coordinate actions.
- Support Senior Managers in consulting with stakeholders to identify requirements.
- Support the coordination of responses from other agencies on operational issues and deliver services in partnership.
- Deputize for the Adult Safeguarding Lead as required.
- Manage and professionally supervise several Social Work qualified & support staff and support other colleagues.
Requirements
- Significant post-qualifying social work experience in an Adults Social Care setting.
- Experience of undertaking highly complex casework within a statutory Adults’ setting.
- Experience of service delivery that is culturally sensitive and responsive to the needs of a multicultural community.
- Experience interpreting, understanding, and making judgments on complex interactions between risk and protective factors to determine significant harm or care and support needs.
- Ability to make timely, evidence-based judgments and decisions through thorough analysis of gathered information.
- Ability to draw up specific plans with clear timescales based on high-quality assessments, setting out planned outcomes.
- Ability to systematically monitor and review decisions and plans, revising them as needed based on new information and evaluation of intervention outcomes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse range of audiences.
- Experience developing and maintaining effective partnerships with statutory agencies and voluntary organizations at strategic and operational levels.
- Ability to coordinate, motivate, and develop staff to achieve agreed service outcomes.
- Experience operating within the appropriate Care Act or other legislative framework for Adults Social Care.
- Familiarity with current trends and issues in Adults care needs.
- In-depth knowledge of the statutory framework for Adults.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications.
- Satisfactory employment references and CIFAS identity checks.
- Satisfactory declaration of interest.
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
- Continued professional body registration.
- Fluent English speaking ability with confidence and accuracy sufficient for effective role performance.
