About the Role
Open Door Family Medical Centers is seeking a Dental Patient Service Representative for its Port Chester, NY location to assist in the provision of dental services. This role is crucial in facilitating patient flow and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect patient information, including insurance, copays, and contact details, for entry into eCW.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals, managing delays, and communicating with patients and staff.
- Respond courteously to inquiries from patients, prospective patients, and visitors.
- Provide patients with necessary forms, office policies, and legally required documents.
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provider availability.
- Process payments from patients for uninsured services.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility.
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Superior customer service skills and experience.
- Flexible and solutions-driven.
- Responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with diverse providers.
- Passionate about providing high-quality care to low-income, underserved residents and those lacking access to health care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Engage in learning and continuous quality improvement.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience communicating with a culturally diverse patient and staff population.
