About the Role
As an Application Security Engineer, you will manage security for assigned business domains, embedding yourself into the lifecycle of SaaS products. You will act as the architect, strategist, and trusted advisor, owning your domain by partnering with product and leadership teams to define security requirements. You will lead threat and security architecture reviews, provide direct product feedback, and empower product teams by improving processes and mentoring them on security best practices. You will have the autonomy to experiment, create better workflows, build better tools, patterns, and trial new technologies that scale without slowing things down.
Responsibilities
- Manage security for assigned business domains, embedding into the lifecycle of SaaS products.
- Partner directly with product and leadership teams to define practical security requirements throughout the software lifecycle.
- Lead threat and security architecture reviews with direct product feedback and actionable outcomes for fast-moving cloud products.
- Work side-by-side with product teams, improve processes and mentor teams on security best practices.
- Experiment, create better workflows, build better tools, patterns and trial new technologies that scale without slowing things down.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of application security.
- Familiarity with code, modern web apps, contemporary architectures, and SaaS infrastructure.
- Ability to channel an attacker mindset into building resilient software.
- Comfort operating with vague requirements and diverse day-to-day tasks.
- Ability to discuss risk with tech leadership and conduct security architecture reviews.
- Understanding that security does not exist in a vacuum.
- Ability to collaborate, build rapport, ask for help, and design creative realistic solutions that balance risk with shipping features.
- Self-starter with a give it a go attitude.
- Up to date with security trends.
- Not afraid to make a call and own decisions.
