About the Role
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the commercial launch strategy for priority indications across AbbVie's market-leading Immunology portfolio, partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to build compelling, customer-centric strategies that deliver strong market impact and sustainable growth. As the custodian of launch strategy, you will translate business objectives into robust commercial plans grounded in customer insight, champion innovation and accountability, and lead complex cross-functional agendas to ensure each indication launches with a strong strategic foundation and clear execution priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate a clear pre-launch and launch readiness brand strategy aligned to affiliate priorities, business objectives, and customer needs.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define the launch vision, priorities, and key strategic choices required to enable successful pre-launch preparation and launch execution.
- Use market, customer, competitor, and environmental insights to shape pre-launch opportunities, launch planning, and decision-making.
- Lead strategic planning processes to ensure pre-launch and launch strategies are differentiated, viable, and executable.
- Explore innovative approaches for reaching and engaging patients in a self-pay market, leveraging new technology, digital solutions, and patient support programs.
- Drive integrated planning by defining readiness milestones, success factors, and launch narratives grounded in customer insight and market realities.
- Partner across functions to identify risks, gaps, and dependencies that could impact successful execution.
- Collaborate across business units to develop corporate account engagement strategies, strengthen market penetration, and refine value propositions.
- Work with business units on education and patient support initiatives that enhance customer experience, improve access, and support successful launch readiness and adoption.
- Drive disciplined execution of the brand plan through strong governance, clear accountability, and prioritisation.
- Work closely with PMO, commercial, medical, market access, regulatory, Area Commercial, IMCO, and other relevant teams to ensure integrated delivery.
- Monitor progress against strategic and pre-launch objectives, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure decisions are made with a clear balance of customer value, business impact, operational feasibility, and broader organisational alignment.
- Champion innovative thinking to strengthen pre-launch readiness, launch effectiveness, and customer engagement.
- Drive the adoption of new ways of working, tools, and methods that enhance pre-launch planning, execution, and agility.
- Amplify the use of AI and other enabling technologies to accelerate pre-launch innovation, improve decision-making, and expand customer reach.
- Share learnings and insights across teams to continuously improve pre-launch capability, launch preparedness, and readiness for successful execution.
- Represent the affiliate externally, where appropriate, to support thought leadership, innovation, and pre-launch excellence.
- Establish and track key measures of success for brand strategy, pre-launch readiness, and pre-launch planning performance.
- Use structured governance to monitor delivery against pre-launch milestones, identify issues early, and enable timely interventions.
- Support organisational change required to prepare for new brand strategies, processes, and ways of working ahead of launch.
- Build capability and alignment across stakeholders to support effective pre-launch execution and readiness for launch adoption.
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and always promote a safe work environment.
- Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
- Perform other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven track record in brand strategy, brand planning, launch development, or commercial leadership roles.
- Experience in launch planning, brand execution, cross-functional launch preparation, compelling brand storytelling, and short- and long-term strategic direction.
- Commercial leadership background with demonstrated commercial acumen, customer-centric mindset, and understanding of market access stakeholders' economics and decision-making.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with ability to gather, analyse, and synthesise data to generate impactful insights.
- Ability to drive adoption and alignment across complex, matrixed organisations, whilst managing ambiguity and prioritising multiple competing demands.
- Effective relationship management with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and internal partners.
- Strong influence and communication skills to inspire action through compelling narratives.
- Ability to deliver tailored experiences using real-time data, advanced analytics, and AI.
- Experience using market and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decisions.
- Experience in regulated and matrixed environments highly desirable.
