About the Role
In this role, you will support operational reporting, collaborate with peers and team lead to develop dashboards and data visualizations, and help uncover analytical insights that inform a wide range of HR programs and workforce planning initiatives. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical and analytical capabilities by working with large and complex workforce datasets, translating business requirements into actionable insights, and supporting the delivery of strategic analytics solutions. Working closely with HR COEs and business leaders, you will gain exposure to key areas such as total rewards, workforce planning, talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Provide computer system expertise to support clients in the Human Resources Branch, the Personnel or the Actuarial Studies Functions in analyzing computer needs and developing appropriate computer systems and applications.
- Develop complete system specifications in conjunction with these clients to represent the required applications logic, data flows or actuarial models and simulations, such as, regarding labour negotiations, including benefits proposals, work program budgets details, pension plan evaluation, etc.
- Determine, based on these specifications, appropriate hardware, software & data environments to support the system.
- Design, program, test and implement new systems and maintain and enhance existing systems using appropriate computer facilities and techniques.
- Utilize the full capabilities of the HR Data Environment to ensure the effectiveness of these systems.
- Provide technical support, training and expertise to clients to ensure their effective use of computer tools or mathematical methods.
- Indicate to clients areas that could benefit from computerization or that are using systems ineffectively.
- Maintain a high degree of expertise in computer system technology as it is applied to Human Resources Information Systems.
- Provide leadership to clients and support other section staff in the effective use of computer technology.
- Maintain awareness of changes in HR management in Hydro One.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation and software manuals.
- Work with analysts and programmers to maintain the overall integrity of our data environment.
- Keep abreast of new developments in programming and computer technological advancements, with regards to Human Resources Branch Functions and related activities to ensure their up-to-date methods and techniques are available for their requirements.
