About the Role

Join ASX, a leading global securities exchange and trusted market operator, to power a stronger economic future by enabling a fair and dynamic marketplace. You will be part of a high-performing engineering team within Technology and Delivery, responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, resilient platforms that underpin critical market infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Calypso modules (workflows, trade processing, interfaces, reporting)
  • Provide BAU support, including issue investigation, root cause analysis, and defect resolution
  • Implement enhancements and configuration changes aligned to business requirements
  • Build and maintain integrations with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., market data, clearing, reporting systems)
  • Participate in release cycles (build, deployment, regression, UAT support)
  • Collaborate with QA to support test automation and validation of trade flows
  • Optimize system performance and ensure high availability of Calypso services
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment automation (GitLab, Ansible, etc.)
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and fixes

Requirements

  • Must have 8–10+ years’ experience on Calypso implementations/upgrades
  • Strong Core Java development (collections, multithreading, JDBC)
  • Hands-on experience with the Calypso platform (APIs, workflows, engines, messaging)
  • Strong understanding of capital markets (trade lifecycle, derivatives, FX, fixed income)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server)
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible
  • Experience with Kafka / messaging frameworks
  • Expertise in system integration and complex Calypso customizations
  • Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
