About the Role

The Principal Project Manager leads and manages the risk, quality, and progress of ICT projects within the Project Management Office. This role involves overseeing end-to-end delivery of critical technology transformation streams, including network, security, and communication platforms, to support frontline policing and public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of large, complex projects
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and contractual obligations
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across multiple commands
  • Develop and execute project strategies and delivery plans
  • Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and aligned to organisational priorities
  • Lead delivery across streams such as Next-Generation Network and Security Services, Modern Audio-Visual Services, and Corporate Telephony

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in networking, telecom, or IT
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality standards
  • Hands-on experience with scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change management
  • Demonstrated experience working across business and IT stakeholders
  • Experience managing vendors and delivery partners
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance and pass a National Police Check
