About the Role

Join the YMCA Team as a Special Events and Fundraising Volunteer and be the spark that ignites the potential in others. Contribute to real, meaningful impact in the lives of children and youth by helping to create healthy children, healthy families, and healthy communities.

Responsibilities

  • Build momentum and drive fundraising for YMCA SWO events and other signature community fundraising campaigns
  • Connect with donors over the phone to thank them for their generosity
  • Help execute events by volunteering at registration, setting up a silent auction, or other event-related roles
  • Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
  • Embrace and exemplify the Y’s core values

Requirements

  • Minimum age: volunteers as young as the summer they are entering grade 9
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills
  • Dedicated, organized, and perseverance
  • Enthusiastic with an understanding of the importance of growing our revenue to support our mission and willing to help achieve ambitious goals
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum commitment of 4 months, 2 hours/week
  • Provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record
  • May require a Vulnerable Sector Search as a condition of employment
