About the Role
We are seeking an expert in algae, harmful algal blooms, cyanobacteria, and water quality remote sensing to serve as our scientific and environmental specialist. This role ensures the rigor, defensibility, and utility of our detections, forecasts, and reports for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop highly accurate algal bloom detection and early-warning capabilities.
- Validate and strengthen scientific methodology for technical scrutiny.
- Quantify confidence and uncertainty in outputs for customer trust.
- Shape the HAB monitoring offering into a market-leading service.
- Lend scientific credibility to client conversations in the water sector.
Requirements
- Deep sector expertise in freshwater and/or marine algae and cyanobacteria, including biology, bloom drivers, and data interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with remote sensing and Earth observation of water quality.
- Qualifications in phycology, aquatic/freshwater ecology, limnology, marine biology, environmental science, oceanography, or remote sensing.
- Ability to explain complex science simply to non-scientist decision-makers.
