About the Role
The Trade Support Group (TS) is part of Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group’s (CC&L’s) Investment Resource Group (IRG) and handles all post-trade processing for client portfolios. This role offers a great opportunity to join a growing operational team.
Responsibilities
- Match trade allocations with brokers using a central trade-matching tool.
- Send trade allocations to custodians electronically.
- Resolve trade break issues before settlement date.
- Set up and maintain client settlement instructions.
- Assist in onboarding new clients.
- Liaise with other teams on projects.
- Use leading technologies and systems to ensure smooth operation of the post-trade process, with a focus on equities.
- Support the post-trade process from beginning to end, including trade matching, allocation, transmission, and settlement.
- Interact with brokers and custodians globally to facilitate trade settlement in over 60 countries.
- Assist with quarterly commission reporting and soft-dollar budgeting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 2+ years of related working experience, preferably with an institutional money manager or in a similar environment.
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
- Show a demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Possess an analytical mindset and the ability to deduce the root cause of issues.
- Be able to support peers to improve their problem-solving and critical thinking during issue escalation.
- Be committed to contributing and supporting a team of like-minded individuals who are driven and have high standards.
- Be a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who will seek to improve existing processes and help to implement creative solutions.
- Have a passion for advancing the robustness, quality, scale, and efficiency of processes.
