About the Role

Automation Travel Engineers solve problems in the field and help bring complex systems to life by programming applications to interface with and control hardware. This travel-focused role includes additional compensation and benefits designed to support a project-based schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Programs applications in accordance with DMC programming standards and best practices.
  • Commissions solutions at customer sites, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Works with most industrial PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Ignition, etc.).
  • Continuously learns relevant technologies, gaining knowledge in sales, business development, and project processes.
  • Supports system architecture design and performs engineering tasks at all stages.
  • Takes on both leading and supporting roles in projects.
  • Mentors and technically advises new team members.
  • Conveys deliverables to customers and develops and maintains relationships.
  • Travels 90% - 100% for the first 18 months, with the majority of time spent onsite at customer facilities.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in programming, including text-based languages and object-oriented concepts.
  • Quickly learns new technologies, understands complex systems, and builds on established patterns and models.
  • Efficiently manages multiple projects, works directly with customers, and responds to their needs.
  • Experience designing projects in industrial automation systems (e.g. PLCs, Motion Control, Process Control, HMI, SCADA, Robots, Machine Vision, etc.).
  • Interest in working across a variety of industries.
  • Experience leading and/or mentoring technical project teams (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop project proposals.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 90% - 100% for the first 18 months.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • $101,000 - $121,000 (Engineer Levels II & III, 3-5 years relevant experience)
  • $121,000 - $171,000+ (Engineering Levels III & Above, 5-10 years relevant experience)
