About the Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across the Asia-Pacific region. You'll manage payroll processing, records, reporting, and reconciliations while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with local legislation. This role partners with People & Culture, Finance, Leaders, and external providers to resolve payroll queries and identify process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Process and validate payroll accurately across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China
- Maintain payroll records, timekeeping data, leave records, and employee benefit information
- Administer superannuation, health insurance, commissions, bonuses, and employee benefits
- Reconcile payroll, payroll tax, insurance, and superannuation payments
- Support compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare payroll reports and support month-end, year-end, and audit reporting
- Provide responsive payroll support to teammates, leaders, and external providers
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes, controls, and automation
Requirements
- 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience in complex, multi-country environments (preferably APAC)
- Current or recent experience with Access Payroll/MicrOpay systems
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory obligations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll validation, gross-to-net calculations, and quality assurance reviews
- Advanced Excel skills including data analysis, pivot tables, and large dataset validation
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles across countries and time zones
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
