About the Role

We are seeking a Growth hire to scale Sauna from thousands to millions of users. You will be the first dedicated growth hire, responsible for building the growth machine from scratch and subsequently assembling a team to operate it. This role focuses on driving user acquisition, with product growth aspects remaining with the product team.

Responsibilities

• Own the full consumer growth stack, including social virality, programmatic SEO, paid ads, sponsorships, newsletters, affiliates, invite virality, engineering as marketing, content, courses, and university partnerships.
• Build and iterate on viral loops, both in-product and externally, that compound over time.
• Manage and optimize paid channels such as Google Ads, social ads, sponsorships, and newsletters, initially utilizing an agency.
• Develop a content engine with an aesthetic similar to Johnny Harris, using Sauna to demonstrate product capabilities.
• Own programmatic SEO initiatives and collaborate with engineering to implement them.
• Conduct outreach to accelerators, universities, and AI communities for bulk user activation.
• Hire and lead the growth team, starting with a PMM/copy person, followed by a frontend engineer, and then a motion designer, as channels prove successful.

Requirements

• Experience running growth at a fast-moving startup and scaling a channel from inception to significant scale.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to produce punchy, specific, and opinionated copy that converts.
• Deep understanding of the AI content landscape, including current trends on platforms like X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Strong viral intuition, understanding what drives sharing and product looping.
• Ability to manage a launch end-to-end, including positioning, copy, social media, email, and video briefs.
• Sufficient technical ability to partner with engineering on SEO without requiring tickets for every request.
• Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and hire the right growth team members.
